What are the types of dress style?

You browse through many wedding dresses online that have words in their names that you don't understand? It's time to familiarize yourself with the most popular ones! Each dress presents a style, and it will be easier for you to find the one of your dreams if you learn which style suits you best.

Let’s start!

There are numerous types of dress styles, each with its own unique characteristics and aesthetic but the most common include:

A-Line: Fitted at the waist and gradually flares out towards the hem, resembling the shape of an uppercase "A."

Ball Gown: Characterized by a fitted bodice and a full, voluminous skirt, often with layers of tulle or organza.

Mermaid/Trumpet: Fitted through the bodice and hips, then flares out dramatically from the knee or mid-thigh, resembling the shape of a mermaid's tail or trumpet.

Sheath/Column: Form-fitting dress that follows the natural silhouette of the body from top to bottom, with minimal flare.

Empire: Features a high waistline that sits just below the bust, with a flowing skirt that skims over the hips and falls loosely to the hem.

Tea-Length: Hemline falls between the knee and ankle, offering a vintage-inspired look with a shorter skirt length.

Mini: Short dress with a hemline that falls above the knee, perfect for informal or casual weddings.

High-Low: Features a hemline that is shorter in the front and longer in the back, creating a dynamic and modern silhouette.
